Drugs, Alcohol and coping with escorting
I had a conversation with a client last week, about this.It is not unusual for women within the industry to have problems with drugs and alcohol. Some of them, have addictions before they start escorting, some of them become addicted while they are working. Some have no addictions whatsoever.
He had discovered that an escort that he used to see regularly, was using drugs. He heard via the grapevine that she used drugs before each appointment to get through the booking.
I think this can be difficult to detect, depending on what drugs an escort takes. If an escort is taking ecstasy, she clearly will be chirpy all the time, which most clients want.
It is difficult. I find that when I go on outcalls, the majority of my clients drink alcohol, and a minority take cocaine. Most of my clients want me to drink and take drugs with them, like Jacques.
I do not drink or do drugs, and sometimes this does not go down well. It is easy to develop a habit, if it is being offered to you all the time.
I know some escorts use alcohol and drugs to get through bookings that they find difficult. I know some escorts who find that it gives them confidence. It can also enable an escort to block out what she encounters in a booking.
It must be hard for clients to discover that an escort who they like, is using drugs to get through an appointment with them. I doubt any escort in their right mind would admit to this,as I believe it would be a case of professional suicide.
I think about my escort friends who use alcohol and drugs when they work. I do not think that in all cases they do not like their jobs. I think another way of looking at it is, that they recognise that it can be demanding and stressful. The alcohol and drugs enable them to be happy, friendly and appear to be up for most things, throughout the booking.
Some love to drink and do drugs, and it has nothing to do with escorting. It helps them chill out.
What do you think?
Well, in Australia they do things in a creative way. They pay their detectives to see prostitutes, to gather evidence against illegal brothels. I doubt these guys need drugs or alcohol.

Yes, you have got it right here Nia. Knowing that someone had to take a drug to get through a sexual encounter with me would definitely be an anaphrodisiac on a huge scale.
Smoking is also a huge turn off, unless the guy is also a smoker. Unless the woman has showered and washed her hair, changed all her clothes, carpets, curtains, and bedding since the last cigarette, the odor will always be detectable.
Plus the yellow fingers and teeth, of course.
I think you have put your finger on one of the worst occupational hazards of your calling. If I was paid lots of money to have sex with beautiful women, I would still quit the job if drug and alcohol use and exposure to cigarettes or CIGARS was any part of the deal.
Fortunately for me, in the state where I live, health laws forbid exposure to second hand indoor smoke in the workplace, and while prostitution is a minor offence, exposure of an employee or contractor to health hazards is a major one.
I think you deserve every penny you earn.

"It must be hard for clients to discover that an escort who they like, is using drugs to get through an appointment with them. I doubt any escort in their right mind would admit to this,as I believe it would be a case of professional suicide."
You're right. It would be very depressing to discover that escorting *in general* was so traumatic that she HAD to use drugs to get through it. Even worse if it were an appointment *with me*.
I understand the perspective of "I do not think that in all cases they do not like their jobs. I think another way of looking at it is, that they recognise that it can be demanding and stressful." But many jobs are demanding and stressful without driving the worker to use alcohol or drugs before going to work. It's still a sign of a very HIGH degree of stress that is very close to "I hate this job."
I might make an excuse for minimal use of alcohol, depending on the time of day; and I guess she might persuade me she ENJOYED drinking but didn't NEED it to get through an appointment. In general, though, if I really knew . . . I'm hesitant about going back. Of course, in most cases you DON'T know.
On the other hand, there ARE clients who like to indulge themselves and want the escort to join them, so they wouldn't be scared off by reports of alcohol or drug abuse.
And, unfortunately, I suspect that some guys would be attracted by such reports. Accurate or not, I think there is a perception among some that alcohol/drug abuse is a sign of a weak personality -- one that might be manipulated or exploited in ways others escorts would resist.
Interesting topic.

James,
Thank you for your comments. I love the bit about me deserving every penny I earn :).
I do not like smoke myself, but can tolerate it from clients. It is cigars that get me coughing like nobody's business. It is worse when a client has smoked packs of cigarettes and has not brushed his teeth.
Chevalier,
Yes, once you find out someone has had to take drugs to be with you, it cannot be a good feeling.
There is a large degree of cocaine use among investment bankers here. You are right, I think it enables them to manage the stress at work. I think they like their jobs though.
You are right, in most cases you do not know that there has been large intakes of alcohol or drugs before you meet.
Remember Chevalier, you are dealing with Professionals, lol.

I enjoy a glass of wine or champagne with a client but not too early in the day ! Sometimes it just sets the mood and relaxes both of you before the main event. There is nothing wrong with it, provided it is not drunk to excess and renders you comatose...lol AND - is especially nice when the client brings something really gorgeous to drink also instead of expecting me to provide it. That small gesture tells me they are respectful, thoughtful, and eager to please as well as be pleasured. bring on the vino I say !
Blueslady,
Thank you for your comments. I wonder what would happen if you were comatose, lol.
No, there is nothing wrong with it at all.

I tend to be quite shy and reserved in new settings or with somebody I just met. It is part of my personality and applies to all circumstances. So sometimes, a glass of wine over lunch or dinner is a good way for me to relax and loosen up quicker than I would have naturally and act more bold. No more than that, though.
